More craftspeople and greater capacity: Malermestrene BMV accelerates growth

With seven new craftsmen on the team and a clear commitment to growth, Malermestrene BMV has strengthened both its capacity and expertise over the past year. With their unique expertise in floor levelling, they are now stronger than ever in the market.

    From uncertainty to growth
Earlier this year, the brick and tile department at Malermestrene BMV found itself at a critical crossroads. It was uncertain whether the department had enough resources and capacity to continue as before.

    - We had serious doubts about whether we should continue with bricklaying or not. Staffing challenges and an upcoming generational change made the situation demanding, says general manager Eyvind Ohr.

The solution was to build on an already good collaboration.

    - By incorporating Murmester Terje Kvalvåg, who has been a good and reliable partner for many years, we have secured the department's future, says Eyvind enthusiastically.

Strengthened position with own competence center
After expanding the business, Malermestrene BMV now has 47 employees who carry out all types of surface work.

    - We see ourselves as a competence center that handles both small and large, more complex jobs. We're particularly proud of the fact that we also offer floor levelling with our own pump truck, which is completely unique, Eyvind emphasizes.

The pump truck, which functions as a mobile factory, produces screed directly at the construction site. This ensures fast and efficient floor leveling with high quality, whether it's small residential floors or large industrial floors.

    - The pump truck accounts for a third of our sales and makes us stand out in the market," Eyvind continues.

    - We have a team of five fantastic employees who travel all over the region, levelling everything from small residential houses to large industrial floors.

In addition to floor screeding, Malermestrene BMV offers a wide range of surface services, including painting, tiling, masonry and plastering, as well as laying industrial floors.

One of their latest projects is the redevelopment of Høghallen in Molde, where the former industrial building has been converted into a modern climbing hall and 5,500 square meters of office space.

    - Having several legs to stand on is one of the keys to a good and stable operation, says Eyvind.

    - Our combination of specialization and breadth makes us more resilient to market fluctuations and gives us the flexibility needed to adapt to demand.

    Unifying leadership
Eyvind's approach to leadership has been crucial to the positive development of the company. Although he's only been general manager for just over two years, Eyvind is already noticing how the team collaborates better and works more effectively together. For him, good leadership is essential to building a strong and united company.

    - For me, leadership is about getting people on board, because they are our most important resource. Openness and good communication are key, as is showing that we really value our employees. A loyal employee performs better and thrives at work, and this has been an important part of the strong development we've seen in the company, says Eyvind.

He is now looking forward to working more closely with several colleagues in Håndverksgruppen, and exchanging expertise across the companies in the time to come.

    - We have a strong professional environment at Malermestrene BMV, and we're looking forward to sharing our expertise, especially in floor screeding, with the rest of the Håndverksgruppen. Working together makes us all better, concludes Eyvind.
