Regnbuen Malermesterbedrift: Systematic follow-up as a growth driver

    - If you want to improve, you have to follow up, says Anders Breituft, CFO at Regnbuen Malermesterbedrift located in Oslo, Norway.

Through a high level of commitment and careful follow-up, Regnbuen Malermesterbedrift has achieved solid growth in recent years. But how does this approach translate into practice at the painting company?

    Systematic follow-up at all stages
To ensure that each project delivers both quality and profitability, Regnbuen Malermesterbedrift has implemented a structured approach to project follow-up. Every day, all project managers in the company evaluate the progress of their projects, and at the end of the month, thorough analyses are carried out based on detailed reports.

    - Daily monitoring allows us to react immediately if something deviates from the plan. By having continuous insight into the status of the project, we avoid surprises and can act before small challenges escalate, Anders explains.

    - All hours and expenses related to projects are registered within 24 hours. This allows us to maintain a stable financial structure and we see clear results in the form of precise control over income and costs.

In addition to close financial follow-up, Regnbuen places great emphasis on giving project managers ownership of the projects.

    - When project managers have responsibility from start to finish, we find that they become much more engaged. They develop good customer relationships and feel a personal responsibility for the results. This leads to better collaboration, which in turn means that customers are very satisfied.

But success does not come without continuous effort. Anders is clear that the company must continue to work on improvement and quality in all parts of the business.

    - Successful performance monitoring requires sustained effort. We've laid a solid foundation, but we must constantly look for new ways to improve, he emphasizes.

    The insurance market is growing
The insurance segment has been a significant growth driver for Regnbuen over the past year, and the company has close to doubled its revenue from this segment.

    - We've been working hard to strengthen our insurance team and increase staffing to meet demand. This has become an important part of our business, and we're looking ahead to how we can develop it further.

So, what can other companies learn from Regnbuen's approach?

    - I would say that success not just about efficient systems and processes, but also about the people who run them. By combining accurate follow-up with a strong company culture, we have secured good financial results and at the same time high employee satisfaction, Anders reflects.

    - At the end of the day, it's about doing the right thing for both customers and employees. We must always strive to be better, and that requires us to follow up - every single day, concludes Anders.
