HG strengthens its position in Germany with Baur GmbH

With the addition of the painting business Baur GmbH, Håndverksgruppen is taking new market shares in Germany and improving its position in one of Europe's largest markets.

    - We are in an exciting phase with a lot of activity in Germany. With the inclusion of Baur GmbH, we are establishing ourselves in Baden-Württemberg, building on the solid cultural platform we have established in Germany with Hans Übelacker in Munich and Beck GmbH in the Stuttgart region, says Øyvind Emblem, CEO of Håndverksgruppen.

Following the strategic entry into Germany in 2023, Håndverksgruppen has quickly established itself in the market and now has a turnover of approximately EUR 10 million.

    - By bringing in well-managed, solid crafts companies like Baur, we succeed in further developing our business in Northern Europe. They bring valuable expertise and craftsmanship that we will benefit greatly from in the future. It's a great pleasure to welcome them to our organisation, explains Emblem.

    Tradition and innovation
The painting business Baur GmbH is based in Donaueschingen and has been run by Joachim Baur and Annette Baur since 1992. The company was founded in 1957 by Joachim's father, known as "Fasade-Picasso" for his innovative approach. Baur is recognised for its professional expertise and unique techniques, and in 2012 was honoured with the 'Painter of the Year' award for its innovative work in surface treatments.

    - When we took over the management of Baur, we were determined to continue and further develop the business. We have always emphasised traditional quality craftsmanship and strong customer relationships, while remaining at the forefront of new techniques and design solutions, explains Joachim Baur, Managing Director of Baur GmbH.

    - It is this synergy between tradition, quality craftsmanship and innovation that made it attractive for us to become part of Håndverksgruppen.

Baur serves a diverse customer base that includes both private individuals and businesses in the industrial and commercial sectors. Today they are 16 employees with a turnover of over 2.1 million euros in 2023.

Despite some uncertainty in the market, Joachim is optimistic about the future.

    - Our long-standing customer relationships have been crucial to our success. As part of Håndverksgruppen, we expect to further strengthen these ties, while keeping our corporate philosophy at the heart of everything we do.

    - We are very enthusiastic about the new opportunities that are now opening up through Håndverksgruppen, and look forward to growing and developing together in the future. This will benefit our customers and employees, and strengthen our entire business," he concludes.

Joachim and Annette Baur will continue as shareholders in Håndverksgruppen, and the business will continue to operate under the same brand name.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Joachim, Annette and the entire team at Baur. Their expertise will play a crucial role in our further growth in Germany. Thank you for your trust in us - we look forward to an exciting co-operation!
