Three new painting companies in Denmark

Håndverksgruppen is expanding strongly in Denmark and incorporates Malerfirmaet Hansen & Mortensen, Egelinds Malerfirma and Tjæreborg Malerforretning. With this significant expansion, Håndverksgruppen now has 20 companies in its Danish portfolio, with a total turnover of more than DKK 600 million.

"We are very pleased to welcome three new businesses to our organisation. These are well-run companies with strong family traditions, valuable expertise and solid local roots in large parts of Jutland. We look forward to working with our new colleagues and are proud that they have chosen to become part of Håndverksgruppen," says Frederik Stage Olsen, Country Manager for Håndverksgruppen in Denmark.

"We have experienced strong growth and new partnerships in recent months, and we look forward to building on our solid group culture and securing both jobs and an even stronger market position going forward. Together, we will capitalise on synergies and drive innovation across the companies, which will benefit both our customers and employees," explains Frederik.

The expansion in Denmark marks a significant milestone in Håndverksgruppen's ambitious growth strategy, which aims to become a leader in surface services in Northern Europe.

Egelinds Malerfirma - a proud family business
Egelinds Malerfirma is a family-run company located in Rask Mølle in East Jutland. The company was established by Jens Egelind and Lotte Egelind in 2000, and has since then been led by Jens Egelind. Today, his son Emil Egelind and Lærke Hjort are also co-owners of the company.

Office Manager Emil Egelind emphasises that it is especially the Håndverksgruppen's support and expertise in sustainability that means they are now part of the Group.

“We recognise that there are many challenges ahead when it comes to sustainability, or ESG, as well as generally new and stricter legal requirements in various areas. We are entering a time that will place great demands on far more administrative work, and we see this as a challenge in a business of our size. This is where Håndverksgruppen will be a great support for us. They can help us with time-consuming administrative challenges and ensure that we are informed about all the necessary rules and standards. We believe this partnership will secure the company's future for many years to come," he says.

Egelinds Malerfirma has 32 employees and a turnover of around DKK 23 million. The company serves a wide range of customers throughout central and eastern Jutland and Funen.

"We've built a family business with solid values and long-standing customer relationships. We look forward to continuing our growth as part of a larger community, while preserving the traditional company as our customers and partners know us," says Emil.

Painting company Hansen & Mortensen and H&M Gulve
Malerfirmaet Hansen & Mortensen was established in 1973 and is currently run by Jakob Mortensen and Jimmie Jensen, both of whom are also owners of the subsidiary H&M Gulve.

The painting company Hansen & Mortensen has 30 employees and a turnover of DKK 20 million, while H&M Gulve has three employees and a turnover of DKK 5 million.

Both companies have a strong presence throughout central and western Jutland.

The painting company Hansen & Mortensen carries out all types of painting jobs, and also offers advice and sales of painting products from its shop and spraying workshop in Ikast. H&M Gulve supplies all epoxy coatings and other flooring services for both private individuals and businesses.

“I'm proud of our business and the strong customer relationships we've built over 30 years. I'm now looking forward to further developing the business by supporting administrative tasks and having more colleagues to spar with. I'm sure we'll have a good collaboration where we can utilise each other's expertise and contribute in different areas," says Jakob Mortensen, General Manager of Malerfirmaet Hansen & Mortensen.

    Tjæreborg Painting Company
Tjæreborg Malerforretning is located in Esbjerg. The painting business has been a solid player in the area since its establishment in 1976 and is currently run by Karsten Bredtved Brunsgaard.

"I'm looking forward to becoming part of Håndverksgruppen, benefiting from the group's size and good systems, while maintaining the high quality and personalised service we're known for. It's reassuring to know that we share the same values, especially when it comes to caring for our employees," says Karsten.

Tjæreborg Malerforretning has 30 employees and a turnover of around DKK 23 million. The painting company operates mainly in West Jutland and carries out all types of painting assignments for both public and private customers. The company also has extensive expertise in areas such as linoleum painting and insurance claims.

Karsten is confident that greater networking and collaboration with colleagues across national borders will bring more benefits in the future.

"It will be exciting to get to know new colleagues in the rest of Håndverksgruppen. In the past, customers have asked if we can carry out jobs in Germany and Norway, and now we can finally say yes.

"The painting business and the employees mean everything to me, and by becoming part of Håndverksgruppen, I hope to be able to continue for many more years," concludes Karsten.

The purchase price is confidential between the parties, but all owners reinvest a significant part of the sales price and become shareholders in Håndverksgruppen.

We extend a warm welcome to Egelinds, Hansen & Mortensen and Tjæreborg. It will undoubtedly be exciting to follow the development in Jutland with such a strong team of great craft companies. We look forward to the journey ahead and really look forward to getting to know you all better!
